What makes your wedding experience different?

Our approach is rooted in calm intention and honest storytelling, so you feel fully present and at ease throughout your wedding day. We document what unfolds naturally—the quiet in-between moments, the movement, the emotion, and everything that makes your day uniquely yours.

Each collection is guided by connection, light, and an editorial eye, resulting in imagery that feels effortless, romantic, and enduring.

From the moment you inquire, we thoughtfully guide you through a seamless experience so everything feels clear, supported, and beautifully considered.

How do you handle nerves in front of the camera?

Being in front of the camera can feel unfamiliar at first, and that’s completely okay. Our approach is intentional but unobtrusive—we’ll guide you gently with direction that feels natural, never forced, so you can stay present with each other.

As the session unfolds, the focus shifts away from the camera and into the connection between you. The result is imagery that feels effortless, honest, and rooted in the way you naturally move together.

How would you describe your photography style?

Our photography style is rooted in a documentary approach with an editorial sensibility. We focus on capturing moments as they naturally unfold—honest, unposed, and full of movement—while gently guiding light, composition, and atmosphere with intention.

Influenced by film and golden-hour light, the work is soft, timeless, and emotionally grounded. During sessions, the experience feels like you—your personality, your connection, and the ease between you are always at the center. On wedding days, the approach stays authentic yet editorial, allowing real moments to lead while shaping them into imagery that feels artful and enduring.

Before any session or wedding day, we connect to understand your preferences—how you feel most comfortable being photographed, angles you love, features you prefer to highlight, and anything you’d rather avoid. This ensures the experience feels intentional, supportive, and fully aligned with how you want to be seen.

How far in advance should we book you?

We typically book weddings 12–18 months in advance. Reserving early ensures your date is secured and allows us time to thoughtfully connect, plan, and shape an experience that feels intentional and aligned with your vision.

For engagement, bridal, and portrait sessions, we recommend booking 2–3 months in advance, depending on availability and season.

The earlier you reach out, the more flexibility we have to create something considered, unhurried, and beautifully tailored to your story.

What is most important to you on a wedding day?

What matters most to us is that you feel fully present—confident, grounded, and immersed in your day without feeling pulled away from it. Our focus is always on preserving the real energy of the moment as it unfolds, rather than directing or interrupting it.

The imagery follows naturally from that space—quiet glances, movement, laughter, and the in-between moments that often mean the most—coming together to tell a story that feels honest, intentional, and deeply personal to you.

Years after your wedding day, we want you to still feel everything when you return to your images—to see them not just as memories, but as something you continue to live with. Work that feels grounding, familiar, and worthy of being framed alongside every season of your life.

As husband and wife, our engagement and wedding imagery reflects this philosophy firsthand. It is entirely shaped by the Marla Collective voice and the foundation our work is built upon. We understand what it means to step into these moments ourselves, and we bring that perspective into every story we document.

We also understand that sometimes it takes traveling to the coast, or to a place that already feels like yours, to be captured in the truest form of your love. From portrait studies to engagements to your wedding day, we recognize how these images continue to grow in meaning long after the season has passed.

How do you approach capturing a couple’s story?

We approach each couple’s story by first understanding who you are together—how you move, what feels natural between you, and the quiet dynamics that define your connection. From there, We document your day as it naturally unfolds, with an editorial eye that is always observing but never interrupting.

Rather than directing moments, we create space for them to happen. The laughter, stillness, movement, and emotion are all guided by what is real in front of the camera, shaped gently through light, composition, and presence.

The result is a body of work that feels honest and intentional—imagery that reflects not only how your day looked, but how it truly felt.
